It was great to see Liddy Brookes and Antonia back in Guildford after the holidays, and Kyle McHale back from the States. Ivor, Lawrence, Joss, Kelly, and all those nice people listening at the back, made the evening go with swing and style.
Andy and Alex arrived fashionably late. More audience than readers this time – always good when the quality of the readings is so high.
Last night was one of the most enjoyable nights of poetry and friends ever at the Keystone Poetry Open Mic night! High quality readers, an amazing atmosphere and a real narrative hip-hop tour de force from Tom V & Friends after the break! And a lovely audience appreciating everything!
We only took one or two photos of Tom V & Friends because the atmosphere was so intense, we didn’t want to disturb the performers with flash. Without the flash, Tom's performance was so dynamic that he came out all blurry!
Remember, the Keystone Poetry Open Mic is moving its regular night from second Tuesday to the first Monday of the month as from February 2nd, when we're featuring Gary W Hartley (Gary from Leeds). Can’t wait!
