This week we launched the Anthology with a poetry night at the Bar Des Arts where, as Dónall said, there were no featured poets, because all the poets were featured - they were all contributors to the Anthology. We were very impressed by the way so many had made the journey from London. Portsmouth, Reading and Andover to support the book, even those who had bought their pre-launch copies.
Tom Vliestra, Geoffrey Pimlott, Lorri Pimlott, Andy Low, Ingrid Andrew, Chip Grim, Amy McAllister, Alex de Suys, Pete Jardine, Cat Randle, Karen Izod, Martin Jones, Kathy Tytler, Richard Alleyne, Mark Gilfillan, Elaine Stabler, Claire Booker, Bryan Baker, Andy Fiver and Gareth Toms, all were there to read.
(We had to apologise to Gareth, whose name was missed off the list by my clerical error and who had to leave to catch his train before we realised it had happened. Gareth, we owe you an apology and a long set next time you can come up to Guildford)
The Dirty Carols were in brilliant form after the half-time break, with several new songs - Debenhams' and Arriva's management's ears must have been burning that night!
Here's a slideshow of my photos from the Launch, which are also on the 1000 Monkeys Facebook page, where they can be downloaded.
And Dónall wraps up the evening with his famous (or infamous!) "Thank You Poem"!
